Around the world, businesses using what3words ensure that pizza arrives hot and on time, people don’t get lost when staying in rural Airbnbs or travelling abroad, and getting a taxi becomes much more painless. Business, governments and NGOs also use what3words to deliver critical services in places that need them the most; with 4 billion people in the world living without an address, what3words ensures that everyone, everywhere has an address.
We are looking for outstanding people who can build on our momentum and successes to date, working with private sector companies, postal services and national governments who use our technology to create efficiencies, fuel economic growth and improve lives.
As we continue to garner global recognition through our partnerships, we generate constant enquiries from companies all around the world who want to use our technology in innovative and exciting ways. As the volume of these increases, we need a bright, energetic, tenacious team member who can handle enquiries and convert these into deals.
This job will entail hard work and long hours (with a healthy respect for work-life balance), including occasional international travel opportunities.
It will be highly demanding and you will be expected to meet challenging targets – but you will also be part of building this global business from the ground up. You will have the opportunity to work with inspirational colleagues who are committed to making the world a better place.
We are specifically interested in the right personality with compatible skills rather than an arbitrary length/type of previous experience – though this role is likely to suit a recent graduate.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing inbound enquiries, qualifying leads and handing off to colleagues
Helping clients integrate what3words into their own products and services
Managing first-level BD support enquiries
Providing information and writing case studies and resources to help other clients understand what3words and how to use our products
Administrative work to support the successful operations of the Business Development team, especially in terms of process and systems set up as we scale
Research, data analysis and presentation
Updating our CRM system (Salesforce) and working with the team to optimise our use of it
Creation and presentation of resources to improve sales conversion (e.g. slide decks, webinars)
Work with our growth team to optimise success / conversion rates
Assisting UK teams with lead generation, lead qualification and outbound sales work
You will be:
extremely tech-savvy, with an excellent understanding of what3words
an exceptionally strong written communicator – you must have an eye for detail and accuracy
able to make resources of a very high standard (e.g. beautiful slide decks), in short periods of time
an extremely fast learner who can pick up from watching and participating rather than being taught
flexible, and excellent at adapting your behaviour to different situations – from high-level relationship management to administrative work – and cultural contexts
ambitious and interested in building a long-term career with us
a team-player, motivated by working with a close-knit team and supporting colleagues in their work to drive the business forward
highly organised, able to juggle a large workload and prioritise effectively
You will have:
a degree from a top-tier university (though impressive experience from the university of life counts too)
excellent communication skills, being able to interact with external and internal colleagues and manage stakeholder relationships inside and outside of the business
a common-sense approach
exemplary planning and time-management skills
Bonus points if you:
speak multiple languages (especially those spoken in multiple geographies, such as French, Spanish, Arabic, and/or Chinese)
have written code or developed a product or idea from scratch
have lived or worked abroad
can start immediately
About the team
Our business development team is made up of bright graduates, experienced team builders and outstanding salespeople. We are looking for someone dynamic who believes in our vision for change and is excited to join the company at this stage of growth.
We have a culture that encourages curiosity and imagination in how we achieve our goals, and an absolute focus on building a global business.
This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining what3words, as we begin to explore new global territories. We hope in 5 years you will be proud to tell people you were one of the first at what3words.
Those with unusual career paths or career changes are encouraged to apply – if you instinctively understand what3words and believe your skills can help us accelerate our global growth, we want to hear from you.
We are looking for someone to start this role as soon as possible in, so applications will be considered as and when we receive them.
Please note that this role will be based in our London office, therefore we will only accept applications from individuals based in London (or ready to move to London immediately) and those that have authorisation to work in the UK.
Get in touch with some combination of CV/Linkedin profile/covering letter to tell us about who you are and how you would target 3-5 key clients.
You can send all of this and anything else you think we should see.
