Job Description:

Reporting the VP, Finance & Treasurer, this role will use industry standards and best practices necessary to compile, report, evaluate, analyze and recommend appropriate financial activities relative to the operation of the organization. This role will work closely with team members of other departments to obtain knowledge and data needed to produce timely and accurate reporting and analysis relative to the business, financial reporting, budgeting, variance reporting, forecast scenarios, and what-if scenarios on a timely basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with various departments to collect and analyze financial data needed to create timely and accurate reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders that facilitate well informed decisions
Assist in the development of new tools and processes to support all aspects of financial planning and analysis, including forecasting, annual budgeting, long-range planning and monthly financial reporting
Assist in the further development and maintenance of financial reports to clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan, forecast and budget
Produce clear, well-formatted reports that communicate a compelling message for the stakeholders
Work closely with the various business units to develop, recommend and establish strategies, plans, and processes to improve profitability and cost efficiencies
Know the business and understand the underlying drivers of revenue and expense
Continuously look for opportunities to improve existing policies and procedures to support the team
Consolidate, load and validate financial data utilizing various databases
Independently build complex financial models and present supporting analysis to executive audience


Qualifications:

BA/BS in Finance or Accounting required
3+ years of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis experience, including modeling capabilities required
Knowledge of US GAAP required
Advanced to expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VBA, Marcos, pivot tables, etc. required
Advanced to expert proficiency in Microsoft Power Point required
Working knowledge of NetSuite or similar ERP systems required
CPA or MBA preferred
Fintech and/or ecommerce industry experience preferred
Public accounting experience a plus
Analyze and manipulate large data sets utilizing programming languages such as R or MySQL preferred and derive key findings and insights
Strong financial acumen and demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements
Prior work experience anticipating accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, and operational issues, assessing their implications, and developing and implementing appropriate action plans
Proven experience driving business performance in a high growth and fast-paced environment
Proven ability to quickly establish credibility, trust, and support within all levels of organization
Ability to act with speed, agility and accountability to drive desirable outcomes
Knowledge of funding for startups and early stage companies is a plus

Education Requirements: BA/BS in Finance or Accounting field required, CPA or MBA preferred
