Mesos Cloud Engineer at Splice Machine

This is an exciting green-field opportunity. In this role you will work closely with the Head of Engineering and CTO, pioneering the first commercial HTAP database-as-a-service platform.

You are a Mesos enthusiast and are eager to build a next generation infrastructure using Mesos Enterprise DC/OS
You believe in automating and codifying operational procedures as much as possible, eliminating toil.
You love building secure, reliable environments, learning new things to continuously improve and optimize your systems.
You have an eye for elegance in infrastructure.
About What You’ll Work On

Build, utilize and improve tools to automate the deployment, administration, and monitoring of Splice Machine’s DBaaS as a cloud-native platform using Mesosphere, Ansible, Influx, Grafana and ELK stack among other powerful big data tools.
Work with the development team to harden, enhance, document, establish process and generally improve the operability and supportability of our systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve live production issues by analyzing logs from different sources.
Develop software/processes for better utilization of underlying cloud resources.
Write and maintain scalable system administration and monitoring.
The opportunity to go outside your normal duties and work on our blog, attend hackathons and conferences, speak at events, contribute to StackOverflow and open source development or anything else you’re interested in that can add to our community.

Strong DevOps background for Linux based systems
Scripting languages such as Python or Bash
Big bonus points if you've built a DCOS infrastructure from the ground floor up!
Docker and Container Orchestration
SQL and databases knowledge
Configuration management tools; Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
System admin tools
Basic knowledge of AWS; EC2 instances, setting up accounts/users, and troubleshooting issues
Mesos Enterprise DC/OS is strongly preferred but not required
