At Earnest we have lots of smart, motivated, and opinionated engineers working in small development teams. They are moving fast and independently, developing within a wide range of open source technologies, Node.JS, Javascript, Scala, Java, Python, Kubernetes, Chef, Docker, and more. We approach development in a distributed and decentralized way.

As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will:

help us create the proper tools, give guidance, and set up processes and frameworks to accelerate and increase quality engineering delivery
engage with all development teams and understand what they are building and how
optimize development across teams and products
initiate conversations, ask hard questions, and bring strategic decisions to the technical leadership team to debate and decide
Required Qualifications:

6+ years of experience
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Full stack experience in JavaScript, Scala, or Java
You’re someone people love working with: reliable, positive and get things done
Experience with service-oriented architecture or microservices
BS/MS in computer science, mathematics or a relevant field
Bonus Points for:

Interest and experience in mentoring and growing engineers
Interest in or past experiences with presenting at conferences and events
Prior experience with AWS technologies
