Splice Machine, an AI predictive platform startup company, is growing our team and hiring a Sales Development Representative.  Work from anywhere in the US.
 
Splice Machine’s predictive platform solution helps companies turn their Big Data into actionable business decisions.  Our predictive platform eliminates the complexity of integrating multiple compute engines and databases necessary to power next-generation enterprise predictive AI and Machine Learning applications.
 
Some of our use-cases include:
·      At a leading credit card company, Splice Machine powers a customer service application that returns sub-20ms record lookups on 7 PB of data
·      At a Fortune 50 bank, Splice Machine is replacing a leading RDBMS and data warehouse with one platform in a customer profitability application
·      At an RFID tag company, Splice Machine is replacing a complex architecture for a retail IoT solution
·      At a leading financial service company, Splice Machine powers an enterprise data hub for 10,000 users

Splice Machine’s CEO/ Co-Founder, Monte Zweben, is a serial entrepreneur in AI, selling his first company, Red Pepper, to Peoplesoft/ Oracle for $225M and taking his second company Blue Martini, through one of the largest IPOs in the early 2000s ($2.9B). He started Splice Machine to disrupt the $30 billion traditional database market with the first open-source dual engine database and predictive platform to power Big Data, AI and Machine Learning applications.  
 
Splice Machine has recruited a team of legendary Big Data advisors including, Roger Bamford, “Father of Oracle RAC”, Michael Franklin, former Director of AMPLab at UC Berkeley, Ken Rudin, Head of Growth and Analytics for Google Search, Andy Pavlo, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University and Ray Lane, former COO of Oracle, to collaborate with the Splice Machine team as we blaze new trails in Big Data.
 
The Sales Development Representative will systematically improve the lead qualification processes.

About You

    • You are a master at initiating interest in enabling interest in complex technical solutions with business and technical audiences.
    • You have extensive knowledge of the big data ecosystem and the importance databases and data warehouses play in the world of AI and Machine Learning.
    • You will utilize your strong technical, business savvy, and customer-centric competencies to map appropriate messages to a variety of personas.
    • Your value proposition focuses on the customer’s business and challenges to stay competitive in the digital era.
    • You offer unique perspectives, drive two-way conversations, know customer value drivers, and are comfortable discussing money.   

About What You'll Do

    • Collaborate with Splice Machine's Sales and Marketing teams to build regular sales campaigns and systematically improve the lead qualification processes.
    • Strategize, design and present custom messaging through email and phone campaigns that emphasize how Splice Machine helps customers solve real business problems with Splice Machine's AI Platform to targeted decision makers.
    • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails.
    • Present the strengths, features, benefits, and competitive advantages of Splice Machine's revolutionary predictive solution.
    • Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure.
    • Utilize CRM system to track activity and manage sales opportunities.
    • Meet quarterly and annual qualified opportunity goals.

Requirements

      • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding quota as an Inside Sales Rep / SDR/ MDR/ BDR selling Hadoop, Machine Learning, AI or other big data technology.
      • Excellent customer-facing communication skills (written and oral) and an ability to build and sustain ongoing customer relationships; ability to practice excellent sales skills in a fast-paced environment.
      • Professional phone presence and experience dialing dozens of calls per day
      • Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools
      • Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM
      • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
      • Strong listening and presentation skills
      • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively
      • BA/BS degree or equivalent
